Exploring urban tree diversity and carbon stocks in Zaria Metropolis, North Western Nigeria

Urbanization is a pressing issue of concern especially in Africa where it expected to continue and increasingly, threaten the efficiency natural carbon sinks sustainability cities. This paper assessed diversity storage trees Zaria metropolis, North-western Nigeria through fieldwork allometric equations. A total 200 assessment plots were randomly generated using Idrisi Terrset software. Quadrats 30 × m dimension established all trees, ?5 cm diameter identified enumerated.
